About

My name is Nick Hughes. I am a student at Millersville University and I study digital journalism there. I hope to use this blog to help others. I want to use techniques and thought patterns I have come up with. I am autistic and I live with that burden daily, but I do not let it stop me from sharing with the community. Thanks for taking the time to read. I hope you enjoy it!

  1. Hi Nick
My son Darryl is 14 and has autism. He is high functioning. He loves to draw and is very good. I would love to send you some of his drawings. He also wants to be a u-tuber. Check out his site: Darryl Keith Ford.
We live in Philadelphia and I cannot find an art school that teaches children with autism. Not even on Saturdays. I want and need to encourage these skills.

    1. I would love it if you sent me some drawings! I would enjoy that. I have found, in my time at school, that advocacy is the key. This is especially true for k-12. Try to find extra curricular activities that involve art for Darryl. Nurture his talent and he will grow to advocate for himself as well. I wish you all the luck in the world! You are not alone in this either, there is a lot of stuff that is available to help.
